The International Tamang Council (ITC) is a global, non-profit, non-political umbrella organization established in 2002 to serve as a common international platform for Tamang organizations worldwide.
It was formed to collectively and systematically contribute to the political, social, cultural, economic, and educational advancement of the Tamang people living across different countries while preserving their distinct language, script, religion, culture, and indigenous identity.
The Council plays a vital coordinating role among Tamang associations formed in various countries, ensuring unity, shared policy direction, leadership development, human rights advocacy, and sustainable community development at a global level.

Governance & Structure
- The Council conducts its General Conference every four (4) years through democratic processes.
- Based on the Council’s constitution, an Executive Committee is formed under the leadership of a President nominated by the host organization of the conference, ensuring inclusive global representation.
